Hmm…. For me, these two images illustrate an interesting phenomenon. In the color one, I’m drawn immediately to the clothes they are wearing and their radiant color. In the second, it’s their faces that immediately have my attention. Somewhere, my mind is obviously prioritizing. Thx, Voss…

And that's why most good street photography is in black and white.

Nice finds, Voss!

What 47greyfox said, and the section admin must be asleep today, that or he has somehow or another seen the light. He threatened to ban me from the section for posting an indoor photo.

I won't do the stats, but most of your photos are of people's behinds, so this is an improvement. Well 50% at least, the other is B&W.

Thanks, jaymatt. Your comment is interesting. Don't know anything about it, but Street photography is photographing people in public places, and I've seen the argument made that those places open to the public (e.g. malls, museums) are at least semipublic. And by extension, indoor shows and events should be the same. I often see shots from these locations included with Street photography. Anyhow, guess it's OK.

Well, any improvement is better than no improvement.

I think the b&w is best for a portrait, but the color version is best for making a cultural record and for serving as an aid to your memory for a more complete record of what you saw when you made your image that day.

A good point, RodeoMan.
