I have the Samsung S23 and it has 50. The S23 Ultra has 200. This might help explain it.

Binning might be a good discussion topic even related to so called " REAL " cameras... Something I never even thought about before. Combined with AI, maybe there might be some innovative techniques used in the future. Oh well, just thinking out of the box a little.

I have the 23S Ultra and it has the 200 MP at 1X and from ultra wide angle to 6X can use 50 mp. The video they put in one of the relies was very interesting. I am just discovering a lot of good things with the phone it is a learning curve. The expertr camera raw is outstanding

I've been told that there is no standard "size" for a pixel. If they make them tiny, they can have lots.

That is my understanding too. The pixels, sensors, firmware and software have advanced so far that I think you have to look at the image and decide if you like it. Too many times I've viewed a fantastic phone image where the traditional camera's image is less.

A standard video setting is now "4K". Every frame is an 8MP image. Even that is enough to get some good prints after the data is massaged by the camera, then the computer post processing software and finally the printer driver.
