When I rode, I carried either a Canon G16 or SX50 or SX60. Even tho I loved the G16, the SX variants got the most rides. It was all about range at the time. Camera capability aside, it was all about compactness for me. The last bike was a Victory Tour so storage wasn't an issue. To protect what camera I had with me, I had a small generic padded case.

You can see how things changed from 1983 to 2006.
Fun trips, a little more comfortable on the Harley, I was able to storge quite a bit of gear.
The 1982 trip was very memorable. There were a bunch of trips in between...

That’s terrific. Yes, that Harley looks a lot more comfortable than the Virago. We loved those motorcycle trips.

Taken at the top of Galena Summit in Idaho, north of Sun Valley. Mine is the yellow Wing and the red one is my wife’s.

When I was younger I could take the bone jarring jolts from crappy suspension, butt burn from poor seats, aches between my shoulder blades from poorly designed handlebars and tingling feeling in my hands from unquelled engine vibration.

True touring bikes right from the factory is the best thing that ever happened to motorcycle touring. No more adding fairings, lowers, saddle bags, trunks, replacing shocks and springs, seats, handlebars, additional foot pegs, backrests, radios, lights and on and on.

I fully agree with you.
However this was a truly comfortable motorcycle, my Suzuki 650 Vstrom. I was able to do a 700 mile day on it, from Watson Lake, BC to Tok, Ak. I had a Russell Daylong saddle with rider’s backrest on it. I had it off for this particular trip across the Denali Hwy.

Here’s the trips I’ve taken by bike. There was a 19 year hiatus while I was raising kids. Hard enough to just keep the lights on, sure wasn’t any money left for any bike trips.

People without kids certainly have money to spend on themselves when they are younger but when you get older you can actually take time to appreciate your kids and grandkids.

I would love to know if there’s anyone who has experience in photographing their trips or excursions while riding a motorcycle in the States or abroad. Motorcycling is one of my favorite hobbies and I dabble in photography, but I am interested in going beyond action cameras and vlogging. Also, I have considered drone photography and footage, but I lack experience in that aspect of photography. All suggestions, ideas and tips are welcomed!

I have traveled all over the country with my bike and so many photos with different cameras. I had a small fuji for some and a Yashika TL electro for some. Both had their place in my travels. Now there is GoPro to mount on your helmet. I can't praise the GoPro enough. You'll have action riding photos. I've been riding just north of 60 years.

Unfortunately I decided to give up riding about 6 years ago. We sure had a ball on our trips.
