Fascinating story. Nice to see people getting an early start in expressing themselves through images.
Young people can capture their stories and memories with cameras many years before they have the vocabulary to capture them in words. Those images transcend spoken or written languages. I don’t speak Chinese, but I understand her images.
As more used, obsolete, digital cameras (those with under 5 mp resolution, for example) show up in camera sales for just a few dollars it is not hard to find a ‘real’ camera for a young child for $20 or less. Old cell phones with no service plan are even cheaper.
