This is a quick shot I took while picking up the mail last summer. I did a bit of pp work just in photos. I have been curious about what the specks in the sky are. Kind of look like stars-mid afternoon! I just zoomed way in and discovered there are a couple of hawks in the sky too. Anyway I like the b/w version. Am just wondering what others think. Time to quit pondering and move on?
Nicely shot image. IMO the color image is not much more than a snap shot. On the other hand the B&W image is the perfect example of a work of art, nicely processed and presented.
I believe the specks are flying insects. You can see bits of bodies on those more in focus. This has happened to me several times
The photo is eye-catching! I love how you caught the sprinkler in the sunlight and were able to frame the cow. I can see possibilities for cropping a bit, especially from foreground, to make your story stronger.

Almost exactly what I was going to say.
Great capture, love the gate and water frame

Thank you Curmudgeon. I always thought I liked it. Now even more so!

That makes perfect sense now. Good suggestion on cropping too. Appreciate that. Thank you Linda!

And thank you Tony. Loved my trip to New Zealand years ago!
I agree with most of the above, though I like both the monochrome and the color. The water frames the cow perfectly!
I would crop a bit from the bottom and left sides. Otherwise an enchanting image.

Thank you for commenting. Usually the first thing I do is start cropping but I just never played with this one that much. But the more I look at it the better I like it so I gave it a go. Think I will add it to my printed file now.๐
Does this look better to all? I also removed most of the โbugsโ, a warm fall afternoon for sure!
Thanks again to all!
After all the suggestions, which make sense. I will just say your last edit works for me. Since the star of the shot is the cow. Framed nicely with the gate, and the water is a definite plus.

I like the black and white. I'm wondering about those specks in the sky as well. Wonder if it could be from the spray? Either way, I really love the photo.

Thank you NJFrank and Erich! Another one of my shots taken โon the flyโ! The cow was walking and the sprinkler was going around and round. So, jump out of the car and grab some quick phone shots! Like Linda said the white spots must be bugs but at first I wondered if it was spray. Anyway, glad you enjoyed. Makes me enjoy it more now.๐
