When I was 17 my second car ever was a sort of metallic blue and white Buick Special just like this one. I took a lot of ribbing about driving "Daddy's car," of course, but my father never owned a car as long as he lived (which wasn't very long.) I loved the car, and the Dynaflow straight 8, but it threw a rod...then I got a black and white "57 Special and later a Super. All hardtops.

When I was in college I had a 1950 Buick which I bought from a neighbor for $125. It served me well through those years. I could drive at 60 mph on the highway and still hear the clock ticking. It was built like a tank and I think it weighed about the same.

That's a beauty. I love the paint scheme. You don't see very many early 50's Buicks at car shows.
