They perform a Chinese Ballet/Dance/Acrobat routine is my take on it. Something they used to do in China before Communism took over. Google it, it's quite interesting.

I saw one a few years ago in San Jose, CA. Overall impression was it was OK, but not great. Lots of flashy choreography and costumes, and good acrobatics. Personally I wouldn’t go again but good to go once.

They do put on quite a show!! Lots of performers. I saw the show a few yrs ago, here in Richmond KY. There seems to be at least 4 'troupes' of performers because there are shows in 3 additional cities on the weekend of the shows in Richmond this year. If the tickets are in your price range, I doubt you'll be disappointed. I'm not planning to see the show this year, probably wouldn't even go IF someone gave me tickets, either. Here's the web address for their scheduled shows. https://www.shenyun.com/tickets Quite a hectic schedule!!!

The dancing, tumbling, music, and choreography were beautiful. The politics presented rather spoiled the beauty.

I saw a version of this about twenty years ago in Beijing and it was fabulous. The most amazing thing to me was when they got about 18 or 20 people on a small bicycle that was riding in circles on the stage. I'm sure there are various versions of the performances but it would be very enjoyable for children of all ages.

BTW, the second most amazing thing was how the exiting crowd would tolerate the friendly and thoughtful police striking people with long wooden rods to keep the crowd moving down the street so the theater could be emptied more quickly. But, overall a tremendous performance.

I saw it probably 10 years ago (as others have said, it is worth seeing once).

I only remember one brief political statement (against the practices of the Chinese government). I didn't mind it, but my friend (who was recently from China) didn't appreciate it. At the time, she was still defending the Chinese government. She still thinks of China as home, but could no longer live with the lack of freedom there.
