There is a group of advanced macrophotographers that hold various "BugShot" events, where people of all backgrounds and abilities can gather to learn about bug macrophotography, to photograph bugs together, and to generally socialize. There are always a couple per year, generally with one overseas somewhere (exotic tropical places, generally), but they also do one in the U.S. This summer they have
two planned for the U.S., which is unusual.
