It's 24 degrees here in Louisiana right now. I know that ain't cold for you, Cindy but it sure is for an old Cajun. The Forecast low is 17. I'm not going outside unless I have to.

It's -9 here this morning (warming up a bit). Most of the Dairy Queens in this area are "Closed for the season".

Alcohol is not a good choice for the long term but it provides short term warmth. It increases blood circulation to your outer layers, warming them. Of course that leads to increased heat loss overall so eventually it will catch up to you so only do it when you have a warm place to replace the lost body heat.

PS: New England leads the nation in the winter consumption of ice cream.
