That is a great photo! I like that you did it in black and white! I like the whistle post sign!

Great news. I am a steam engine fananic myself and have a fairly large layout with about a dozen steam locos.
Do you know what type of loco that is being restored?

Chesapeake & Ohio No. 2789 and a Start
Chesapeake & Ohio no. 2789 is a 2-8-4 Kanawha-type steam locomotive. The locomotive was taken out of service by the C&O in 1955. In 1961, through the efforts of the Miami County Steam Locomotive Association, engine no. 2789 was placed on static display in the city park at Peru, Indiana. In 1988, the steam locomotive was relocated to North Judson, Indiana, and resides today at the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum where efforts are slowly progressing to repair and restore the engine back into operating condition.

Very nice B&W image..

And I now have a relatively close drive to what appears an interesting photography destination.

Many thanks.

If you ever get a chance go see the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento. The wife and I bought a family membership and we take our 3 year old twin grandsons there once or twice a month. They put on a Polar Express ride for Christmas and it sells out in early November every year. We took the boys this year and they loved it.

Very nice. Kids love anything to do with railroads. I have a great grandson in WV. and have taken him numerous times for rides on the Cass RR
