I'm having issues in LrC processing files particularly with the Denoise AI feature. I have a Sony a7rv 61mp camera. Current PC is a 16gb ram, 8th generation i7, and Nvidia GPU. So the question is what computer system do I need to upgrade to? It's been recommended by some to switch to an M3 Mac Pro such as a MRW23LL/A but I'd like to stick with a pc format. Just looking for more feedback as I'm trying to manage the expense.
TIA.

What do you mean by problems?

Won't run at all, or Denoise is a bit slow.

If it's a Windows PC that can be upgraded, the cheapest and probably most cost-effective solution may be to double the on-board RAM.

Easy question. First decision, PC or Mac, desk top or laptop. If PC, which I use, then at least 32 gigs RAM. Then build everything else around the best video card you can afford. Decide what else is important to you. Processor is less important than video card. At least 4TB SSD drive. Any money left over? More VRAM.

What Nvidia do you have?

Upgrading mine recently from a 2GB GPU to an 8GB RTX 4060 improved the time for Denoise AI of the same image from 12 mins to 20 seconds.

As for RAM after testing, 16GB or 32GB made absolutely no difference in time taken with the new GPU fitted.

Doubling the onboard RAM when it is presently 16GB is not going to improve things if the GPU is not up to Adobe requirements.

Great Idea!
I bought a Dell XPS8930 about 4 years ago with 16 GB of Ram. [It replaced an XPS8300 with 12 GB.]

The day it arrived, I tried it out & ordered another 16 GB Ram Stick.

It made a WORLD of difference in Photo Applications.

I7 should be way fast enough you need ram, 32 would work and 64 would be a lot better.

you computer may be full of garbage too. download Glary utilities
Then click one click Maintenace
Then click registry cleaner , shortcut fixer, temp file cleaner
then scan for issues. I run this at least once a week.
Ive ran it on others computers where it has found errors in the thousands.

Was Adobe 'Denoise AI' available 4 years ago?

Exactly the right first question.
