Focus Stacking Practice.

A few months back we had a Focus Stacking and HDR talk at the club followed by an exercise session. I've shown a few of my trial attempts in previous posts.
But I've been waiting / looking for an opportunity to try out focus stacking in real life, and that opportunity arrived with the recent flooding causung the River Thames to burst it's banks.
For this shot I used three images focused on the foreground, the bollards, and the more distant trees. All three were converted to TIFF before processing in AFFINITY 2 (my mentor Robin Whalley - Lenscraft) says AFFINITY works better this way, but I don't understand why.
I was then able to select certain area's of individual images to remove ghosting etc, before a final sharpen / clarity etc. Interested to hear what you think.

Very nice!!!
What was your aperture ?
F8, iso100, 1/160. I might have got away with a higher aperture and two or even just one exposure, but F8 is the sweet spot on the lens and it was a practice shot.

Thank you
I have never really bought into the "Sweet Spot", After reading lens testings 50yrs ago I saw the the magnifications used were beyond what could see in a reasonable print.

Well I've never tried this technique, but yours came out very sharp. Nice photo.
