We've subscribed to Acorn, which is available through Direct TV. All of the seasons of Midsomer Murders are available. We've started from the beginning. PBS is doing the same, once a week, but with Acorn the entire episode is shown without being split. In case anybody is interested.

Note: Our local PBS station cut off the ending of the episodes shown this week so we had to pull it up on Acorn to see how it ended.

Wow, I wonder why they did that.
Our PBS hasn't done that.

We have had and loved Acorn for a few years. Watched all the Midsomer episodes, and we still watch the new ones. Another series we have watched and loved over the years is Murdoch Mysteries. There are so many great series on Acorn and Britbox, too many to mention here.

We watch a lot of BritComs and BritMysts, as well as Austrailian.

Great program. We got commercials on Acorn through Amazon Prime.
Subscribing directly for the same price eliminated them. Also true with BritBox.
Some other series we enjoyed were Shetland & Brokenwood Murders from Australia.

Rocky Mountain PBS has messed up a handful of Midsomer Murders as well. And when we clicked on episodes in the listing, the "problem" episodes are still a "problem." Often, it's the second episode that is a "problem." I don't know why PBS has split Midsomer Murders into two episodes. They are always back to back.

Check the run time on each part 1 and part 2.
Total run tine for an "episode" is 1 hour, 30 minutes.
Maybe they break them into two 45 minute shows for the US?
That allows some non-PBS stations (or PBS fund raiser stints) to run commercials to make it an hour "episode".

On the first run through there was no problem with the local PBS station. This time their getting sloppy. This last week our local station cut off the ending. Thank goodness I was able to pull up the episode on Acorn. Also, it's much easier to watch it on Acorn. Each episode is shown in its entirety without a break.

It’s usually a little odd. We have an episode (part 1 & 2) on the DVR right now. First part is 38 min and the second 53.

Yup, 90 minutes an episode.

The run times on many British shows, like As Time Goes By are actually 30 minutes.
No commercials there.
Ours are about 25 minutes, allowing for 5 minutes of commercials during the show.
(Our hour shows typically allow for 10+ minutes of commercials.)

My wife and I also have acorn and can watch Midsomer when ever. Before that had to use PBS. Haven't looked back.

I got hooked on the show a few years ago. I have watched every episode. So many murders in such a small area. Must be the water.
