I recently purchased PS Elements 11 and am now trying to transfer my photos from Picasa to my new program without success. Can someone provide me with the information or link where this information may be obtained?
Any and all help will be appreciated

I havent looked but you might try adobe.com and see if one of the tutorials can help you.
Thanks, Pepper, I will give that a try,

You DON'T transfer photos from Picasa to anywhere.
Just tell PS Elements where your photos are. Picasa is simply cataloging them, unless you have also adjusted them and have not SAVED the edits yet.
I Like editing in elements but saving and then catalogue in Picasa, The only way I found so far to do that is from Picassa, export the photos you want to your desk top,,,open PSE and import those photos....after I edit in PSE I go to file and save as a JPG back to my desk top,,if I save it as an elements file it seems to mess things up so make sure to save as a jpg file. then open in picassa and import those pics,....Seems a long way around but its working for me so far.

I don't use Picasa, but that seems like an awful lot of unnecessary work to me...
Why don't you try this:
Use your computer's search feature (can't give you more details because I don't know what operating system you use) to find any one of the images on your computer.
Once the computer has found it, note the path to that picture.
If it doesn't give the path, right-click on the image name and from the pop-up select Properties.
I bet you, you'll find your other images in the same location, no need to copy to your desktop and back. As long as you don't change the image's file name, Picasa should find it back.
(If that sounds like gobbledygook, tell me what operating system you use, and I'll give you step-by-step for Windows. Or someone else will give you step-by-step if you use a Mac or Linux, or...)

Ditto this. All you do is create a new catalog and tell the catalog where the images live on your hard drive(s). If you already have a catalog in PSE, then just find the folder in the left panel of Organizer with your images and right click. The click on import.
I want to thank Ester P, Ifenn, Wahawk and Pepper for their feedback regarding my issue of moving photos from Picasa to PS Elements 11. Based upon all of the feedback I feel that is easiest to keep everything in Picasa and import photos that I wish to PP and then return them to Picasa. Does that make sense?

Hi Try this, open the photo in Picisa, right chick in it, chose find photo on disk. This will be your origional. Open up Elements and just drag it into the program. Save your edited pic. with a new name. . Jude

I right click in Picasa and choose open with, Adobe Photoshop Elements, when finished I choose save as in Photoshop and it saves the altered copy in the original directory.

The Elements Organizer will automatically catalog all the pictures on your hard drive for you. Just turn it loose.
Alas a lot of people never learn how to use the Elements Organizer. IMHO it is as powerful as the one in Lightroom and has other fabulous features. You should learn it first.
Get Kelby and Kloskowski's books on Elements 11. It is available now. We got ours last week.
