I drove a Chinese MG Hybrid SUV in Iceland last fall. It was a nice car & quite comfortable. But the GPS was a bit annoying with the Chinglish instructions - "Please to recalculate."

Thank you for your comments Steve.

Love the MGs. You need to make 1 correction though. The F was produced while still owned by BMW. I remember distinctly because I was really hoping they would be exported to the US so I could get one to join my B in the garage. Unfortunately, BMW declined to allow MG to compete in the states against their own new Z3 that had also just been released.

Thank you Eric. You are correct the MGF was manufactured by BMW after it purchased the MG brand several years before the sale to the Chinese. The MGF was followed by the MG TF (not to be confused with the MG TF Midget of 1953-1955) in 2002. BMW ceased production of the MG TF in 2005 but was continued by the Chinese manufacturer (Nanjing Automobile Group) in 2007 until 2011.

OMG, how I would love a new MG or a Triumph (I had two in the seventies) 😎😎😎

Thank you Joe. I would be quite happy with a restored MG TF Midget or Triumph TR6.

Keep them coming as long as you can. Many of the cars I've not seen anywhere else. As far as this posting, I like the MGs in all the forms they've morphed into. Somehow Triumph just doen't seem to get it. Their designs are a little out of step with their competition. Kind of like they are driving off the edge of the road or have been breathing everyone else's exhaust fumes too long. Sadly the only thing they share with rest of the field, (Wait for It) .......................Lucas electronics.

Thank you Reuss. Sadly the Triumph brand has been an unfortunate victim of the demise of the great British car manufacturer that at one time included Austin, Austin Healey, Morris, Mini, MG, Jaguar, Daimler, Riley, Rover, Triumph and Wolseley.

I hope you don't run out of cars to shoot anytime soon. I'm really enjoying your series. I only tangled with Lucas electrics for a short spell. My oldest brother ceded " possession " of his 1952 MG TD to me for about 6 months in 1956 so I could learn to drive and accept responsibility for caring for cars.

Thank you for your encouragement black mamba. I am aware of the bad reputation that Lucas electrics have and I have been guilty of making rude remarks about Lucas also but I grew up in the 1950's and 1960's surrounded by many British cars owned by mates, family and acquaintances and while I knew of some that had problems, many were trouble free. The reliability had a lot to do with how well the vehicle was looked after and maintained.

Same with SU carbies that were fitted to many British cars, again with proper care and maintenance they were usually trouble free - unless they were worn out, then it was time to overhaul them.
