We departed Lucca and drove to Marlia about 15 minutes away where we left the coach and boarded a mini coach in order to negotiate the narrow and winding roads in the countryside on our way to Fattoria Colleverde. Here we learned the art of making fresh pasta, toured the property and sampled the extra virgin olive oil. Afterwards we had lunch and tasted their delicious wines.

Fattoria COLLE VERDE is a family-owned biodynamic wine resort producing some of the most distinctive organic wines and olive oil in Tuscany. Its history goes back to the 17th century when the farm was founded by the Guinigi family, the former ruling dynasty of Lucca.
COLLE VERDE Wine Resort offers you four lovely self-catering private apartments and the separate Villa Nardinello for an unforgettable vacation.
Furthermore, you are welcome to participate in a tour of our winery, which includes the visit of one of the very few estate-owned olive oil presses in this area. Following the tour, we highly recommend a tasting of our organic wines while enjoying the stunning view of the surrounding area.
Besides that, we invite you to take part in our cooking class in order to relish traditional Tuscan cuisine in combination with our award winning red and white wines and olive oil.

Our Wine Resort is located in the beautiful green hills of Matraia, just a short drive from the city of Lucca with its famous medieval walls, half an hour from Pisa and the Mediterranean sea, an hour from Cinque Terre and the so-called Renaissance capital Florence. An ideal base for exploring the wonderful Tuscany!
All of our self-catering private apartments and the separate Villa NARDINELLO (temporarily closed due to renovation work) are furnished and equipped with a great attention to detail and some of the antique furniture originally belonged to the household of the Villa Guinigi. Here the famous Guinigi family who are the founders of Fattoria COLLE VERDE traditionally spent their summer months.
Our apartments BIGOTTO and BIGOTTINO are both located in a converted barn of the 17th century. The apartments LEONELLA and CASTELLO are situated above the wine cellar in a building dating back to the 16th century. All residents have free access to our shared swimming pool.
