I tested positive to Covid yesterday, so I'm relegated to house arrest for a few days. Figured I'd break out the macro equipment and a Christmas decoration and play around a bit. As you can see, I have Fujifilm mirrorless attached to an ancient bellows and an equally ancient 50mm f/1.4Nikkor. This photo was done at a magnification of 1to1

This photo is 17 individual photos stacked with Helicon software. I have not worked out all the details yet; but I guess I'll have time to do that over the next few days. After I saved the stacked photos, I processed with NIK Software.

My wife shoots with the XT-1. How do you like yours?

I bought it when I started using mirrorless to adapt vintage lenses to digital cameras. We never became good friends because I want a 50mm to look like a 50mm not a 75mm. So Now I have a full frame Z6 which started out being the camera I used when I was using vintage lenses. Since then, I've bought a few Z lenses and it is rapidly becoming my "go to" camera with the added bonus that I can slap just about any lens made onto the front of it with an adapter. I will say the XT 1 is nice and small. The image quality is good and you can use it to adapt vintage lenses. I can definitely see the appeal; but we just did not gel.

I have very similar bellows and ancient lens. I can’t remember the last time I used it. Perhaps the next rainy day I could give it a try. I do like your platform setup.

I think I bought the platform online. I think they are used in Chemistry. It works well for macros as well. Thanks for taking a look.

Hope you feel better soon, Erich. It's always interesting to read your "gear" stories!

" relegated to house arrest for a few days." and not a death sentence, wonders of vaccines and our immune systems at work... You would be a great loss we value you.

ebrunner I like your Artful image, "See Smell Smile" photo, is at first puzzling, but then we apply our cerebral AI and figure it out. You show us the setup that we can all do to turn the at-hand objects into art. I have the equipment and will put it higher on my To-Do-Bucket-list. Thank you for the prompt and the reminder of the setup.

I suppose I do have quite a bit of old stuff that many people have stopped using. I Still like the stuff though. Thanks for taking a look.

I did get all the vaccines and boosters; but I still ended up with the virus. The good thing is that the symptoms are not very severe; but I will stick to the prescribed time of "house arrest". Maybe one or two trips to a park where I am very much separated from other people would be acceptable. Thanks for taking a look. Have fun putting your old stuff to work again. Today will be another macro day. Of course, it is not all "old" stuff. Only the hardware. The focus stacking software really helps to extend macro's ultra thin dof.
