Old Dragon Bug Meets Robo-Bug

As Bob Dylan sang, "Times They Are A Changin' " We are all amazed at the Dragon Fly and it small but fantastically developed brain. The primitive Robo-Bug will become more sophisticated and like Tesla Robo-Systems will link with large life databases.

Check TEMU for Robobugs... if you are brave! It is a Brave New World... amazing Sci-Fi

I am the Dragonfly, my iPhone is the Robot that I am not comfortable with .... "Born 30 Years Too Soon" a cartoon series when I was young and chuckled at because of my parents' and grandparents' ways... now it is me who is behind the times; time to laugh at self.

Cool image and a though provoking idea. Nicely done.

NJFrank, kpmac, and ebrunner thank you for your comments. Yes, my bet is for the Robo-Bug... Hidden Laser will evaporate Natures-Best. I have another in which Robo-Bug tries to breed with a not-too-bright beetle... because of rules, that photo will be shown in the boudoir section at a later date. Neither are nude, both have exoskeletons like the Tesla Cybertruck.

Is this an Image digitally modified and is it art? The dragonfly wings were dyed and the pose with the Robo-Bug introduces without threat, the story of the conflict of man and machine. The original image was taken with a Sony SX50 perhaps a decade ago and had significant shortcomings typical of the small sensor compact superzooms of that era. Using Topaz AI, the noise and sharpness were significantly made modern camera-like. The colors in the color intensified and levels of contrast changed were modified with Topaz Clarity. The significant changes in this image are subtle vs the blatantly apparent changes if using Dynamic AutoPainter to make a modern-art style. The image below is via Dynamic Autopainter utilizing the realistic "Dutch Golden Age " style.

Does this meet the significantly modified level to be Digital art, debatable because the changes were to clarify the artistically diagonally constructed and posed subjects that tell the future story of the conflict of man and machinery dating from the Jacquard Loom. These looms produced tapestry art and were the first pneumatic computer patented by Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1804,[4][5][6][7] based on earlier inventions by the Frenchmen Basile Bouchon (1725), Jean Baptiste Falcon (1728), and Jacques Vaucanson (1740). The punch cards for computers were used as late as 1968.

Yes, the use of machines to replace man has changed the landscape, the introduction of tractors and farm implements was welcomed. In contrast, the carpenters' power saw was the source of a significant labor-management conflict. This Bug vs Robo-bug is acceptable humor, messaging the real present-day conflict of unprecedented Rob-Manufacturing introduced by Tesla. The traditional auto manufacturers are unable to keep up and are reducing their workforce... humans.

The acrobatic bipedal human-like robots of Boston Dynamics and the Tesla Robots can assemble a brother-robot and have the manual dexterity to gently pick up an egg or exhibit crushing strength. This is the beginning of the foretold conflict warning of sci-fi movies such as I-Robot. The movie takes place in 2035 and tells of a conspiracy by robots to enslave the human race. Who will win, Bug or Robo-Bug, Man or Robot? NJFrank is betting on the Robo-Bug a good bet.

I like your work, here. I think it is very cool how you processed this image. The use of a Robotic bug and a dragonfly, however, eludes me as a metaphor for man vs machine. While the dragonfly is, of course, a biological representative, it is not a man. Would it not be more apropos to use, for example, John Henry vs the steam drill in West Virginia railroad lore as an example of the struggle between man and machine?

The second image, with Dynamic AutoPaint, highlights the dragon's legs grasping the robo's antennae. The vignette, colors and textures make this an eye-catching, creative, unique work!

Yep John Henry was a pile-driving man, but ebrunner my tabletop did not permit a man or pile driver, although I have not checked in Amazon or TEMU for models. If available I will use your lens bellows setup presented today.

Linda, I apologize for not sticking to the rules of this section "significantly changed by AI" I should have presented the "Golden Age" DAP AI altered photo and then later provided the starting image. Dutch "Golden Age" painter Johannes Vermeer, dated c. 1665 changed a ho-hum girl painting into a work of ART by adding one pearl earring. Vermeer possessed cerebral AI based on viewing many artworks by others and knew.

Yes Linda your are right about the use of Dynamic Autopainter, DAP, [now admitting it is AI] significantly changed the image and as you say "vignette, colors and textures make this an eye-catching, creative, unique work!" [Thank you Linda]

I am about halfway thru the 240 pages of DAP instructions and I have been conducting a symphony orchestra as tho it was a small trio. The same holds for my use of Paintshop Pro 2023 Ultimate, right-clicking on a standard tool and suddenly a universe appears. Me, a fuddy-duddy, also confess to using LI, limited intelligence, with my iPhone.

Add to the list of scantly used equipment my amazing Panasonic TZ100... I use it almost as a Point and Shoot when in reality it is a three-ring-circus of ability. Yesterday at LA Fitness, I watched two playing racquetball and knew that the TZ100 could catch a burst of images that would be dramatic and provide me a choice of still images. We live in an amazing world.

Dynamic AutoPainter used painstaking analysis of paintings form of algorithms "AI" before AI was the popular Buzz-Word required to sell programs. Likewise Topaz used Algorithms to change our photos and now expanded them to learning based on databases. β€œThe key difference is that an algorithm defines the process through which a decision is made, and AI uses training data to make such a decision."
