I had to put my 2 pound, 17 year old Yorkie to sleep today. Give your pets an extra hug tonight. Can't say more because it's hard to see what I'm typing when my eyes are raining.

Sorry for your loss but you are in our prayers !

Condolences. It's always a heartbreak to let a companion go.

We had to put our 16 year old toy poodle Sweet Pea to sleep 2 weeks ago. It just about killed us to do that, but we didn’t want her suffering. She had a wonderful life with us though.

We use to have a dog named Melody, because she was unchained. Her best friend was the neighbors rabbit. They had fun together. A weird team but they get along very well. That dog died early, he got sick and could not walk anymore. We had to decide for her. We had her for only a short time, but she was unforgetfull.

Sorry for your loss. I have experienced this with cats we have had.

I know it’s foolish but we tend to get so attached to our pets.

And why shouldn’t we, they get just as attached to us and provide more than money can pay in companionship and all the other intangibles.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear that. 17 is a good long life for a dog. I am sure you gave Carson a great life. Small ones tend to live longer. I'm fearing the end for my two 65 & 72 lbs Hounds, they are both around 12. They are family. Even though I'm a mere 69 and my wife 66, due to health issues these two will probably be our last.

I am so sorry for your loss. Our pets give us unconditional love no matter how bad a day they are having. It sounds like you sure had a great soul mate and your memories will be treasured forever. It is so hard to make the decision to take them out of pain, but just know they understand and thank you for doing it. Your little one knew you loved him and will dwell in your heart forever. My prayers are with you.

After we have given them a good life and they have given us so much love, we wind up suffering so they won't. I feel that it's better for us to suffer than for them to because we understand and they don't, but it's so very painful
I'm sorry you are going through the same thing..

Thank you and I'm sorry for your loss too. I always feel so bad for anyone having to go through this, but I feel that it's far better for us to suffer that loss than for them to suffer.

It's not easy to lose something that gives you the kind of love that they give. I'm so glad that no one can take our memories away from us.

Thank you Karin. In the end, we have to suffer to keep them from suffering, but it's best that way because we understand and they don't.
