then for this pic I told Photoshop to create an oil painting.
then expanded it vertically with Gen fill
Well, using PS CC start with deleting the birds resting on the rocks... These critters are unlike selfie's idiots... They do not relish being swamped by the next wave.
Scaling ship/lighthouse is a bit off. The same goes with the cliff/ship distance...

I'm guessing you didn't use "photorealistic" so what so what syntax did you use to get that effect?

I told photoshop to make it into a painting.
to do so.
load pic,
type Q
Click the box for foreground color, select black to grey ( different dark colors changes the pic
Click alt and Backspace at same time
click Q again
Then tell the gen fill to create the pic as an oil painting or pastel etc.
