When you want the most from your car's air conditioner, you set it to Recirculate. Wouldn't the same thing work with the car's heater? Instead of heating the 20° air from outside to 70°, the heater would be maintaining the 70° air inside the car. Of, course, you could switch it to Fresh Air occasionally.

Exactly! It does!
In cold weather I always use recirculate with the heater until the inside temp gets to (approaches) where I want it to be.
The cabin heats up faster.

I wish a car would have a built in coffee machine. I could have hot coffee on my way to work and hot chocolate when I’m tired and pull off to the shoulder and take a nap

Yes! it does. I sometimes turn on recirculate and when it get hot I turn the heat down and was wondering why it's stay hot for so long. Well because it recirculate the warm air and not bringing in the cold air from the outside.

Plus you're not bringing all the extra dust and fumes into the car.

Especially if one drives by/through a brush fire area.
Minimum stink intrusion.

Jerry, take my advice and be sure to turn the fresh air on after eating at Taco Bell. I'm sharing an experience from a friend. 😁

Recirculate can work pretty well, until the oxygen levels drop below what we need to feel good.
