On Our Way to The Playground . . .
My 3 year old grandson and I spotted this barred owl Friday afternoon. It gave its position away with a loud hoot as we were walking on a path through an area with plenty of cover.
We went back home and I grabbed my camera and luckily it was still there when I returned a few minutes later.
This is the first time I saw one in the wild.

Great capture! My avatar is a Northern Barred Owl. They are considered an invasive species here on the PNW and may be exterminated. I find them to be interesting, not especially fearful and willing to be shown rats selected to be eaten.
