I had a red one 1961 whatever model that year was...it looked like this photo, except mine had click out windows, not roll downs. Terrible transmission; I learned to double clutch on down shifting b/c that was the only way to get from fourth to anything else. Next car was a 1970VWbug, yellow, great car.

If your Healey had take-out windows, it was a 100-6, not a 3000 which introduced the roll-up windows. The 100-6 was not syncromesh in all 4 gears, only 3rd and 4th. Not much trouble downshifting from 3rd to 2nd but you had to double clutch to bring up the engine speed to get from 2nd to 1st. Downshifting from any gear always worked smoother if you goosed the gas while shifting.
