When I import my photos from my camera they are not in the same order as I took them. Is there a way to correct this? Thank you for your help.

I think They are in order (if imported from the card) of their naming-whatever nomenclature you use. Either from the bottom up or from top down.

This picture shows how it changes from one session to other (different nomenclature) because I used the same card in TWO different CAMERAS. That is, it arranges the photos alphabetically.

They have the numbers in order but when you look at the information of the individual photo (time taken) then they are out of order. If you eject the card and then bring it back into LR will it begin where you stopped before?

Thanks

Shouldn't be. The names are assigned as you take them unless you are re-naming them as you import and nevertheless, they should stay in order. Are you looking at the date?

I am looking at the time the picture was taken. This is mainly for HDR so I need them in order.

Ok... Maybe you didn't edit them in order, so maybe the time reflects the time of "creation" ? Was the HDR made in-camera or out of camera?

If it is for HDR... They don't have to be in order. Only for time lapse they need to be in order or for a GIF file.

Go into the Library module, and use grid view "G" At the bottom of the grid you will see a tool bar. If you don't see it tap the "T" key to toggle it on and off. You will see, among other tools, the sort drop down and you can choose whatever sort method you wish. LR will remember this choice for further sessions until you change it. I think most LR users choose to sort by Capture time. Once sorted, all photos remain sorted regardless of the module you are in.

If you don' see the sort tool, slide on over to the far right of the tool bar and click the down arrow for a list of tools available for viewing.

Hope this gives you the insight you were looking for.

I just had a similar problem. Go to Library mode, and at the bottom of the screen right under the image you will see "A-Z Sort." To the right of that, you can select how they will be sorted.

You should be able to order/sort them by capture time. It might be defaulting to ordering them by when they were last edited. There is usually a drop down box T the bottom of Library window. If it is not there you will have to un-hide it.

Thanks for all of the help. The A-Z Sort corrected the problem.
