Cell Phone Grip

I'm getting more and more interested in cell phone photography, it's so portable, along with the fact that the new phones can do so much now. The one problem is with holding the phone steady, while focusing, pressing the shutter button on the screen, etc. I see there are a number of grips on the market to hold the phone more like an SLR camera, with a bluetooth shutter button and a cold shoe for other attachments. Examples are:

Ulanzi Cap Grip II

Just Mobile ShutterGrip 2

KIWIfotos Camera Grip

I'm interested in the experience others have had with these types of grips. I am a Samsung phone person, as in not likely to switch to iphone any time soon! Thanks for all comments.

I have a Snap Grip but it only works with iPhones with Magsafe. I like it very much. Interestingly I ordered mine through Kohl’s and received Kohls cash. They are $69.99 and I was not able to find them on sale even on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. The only downside is that when first put on each time it takes a couple clicks to engage the shutter but the upside once it is paired each time it is snapped on. I like it because while it holds the phone securely it is easily removed so the phone and grip can be carried in separate pockets but it attached immediately. I use mine on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I have large hands. When I looked at options like a Sony RX100 my thought it was too small for my hands. I love the feel in my hands of my combo. Also the Snap Grip works with my Otterbox case

I have the KIWIfotos Camera Grip and it works fine. I just recently added ...

I like it more because the grip is so easy to attach, and can be stored in a coat or pants pocket.

I just checked the snapgrip website and it says the holder is compatible with all mobile devices, including the Samsun Galaxy S23 series and iPhone. Looks like a great accessory.

But if you don’t have a MagSafe phone you will need to attach a magnet disc (included) to your phone or case. That was the instructions that came with my SnapGrip.

I guess the Samsung phones aren’t magsafe? That could be an issue. I’m not familiar with the Samsung phones.

Unfortunately that link doesn’t go to what you’re wanting to show, just a large list of random things available on Amazon. When I click on the link, it keeps asking me if I want to change country to Amazon.ca. I don’t know what that’s all about. Can you do a screen shot and post that as a photo?

Not sure what happened, but the link worked for me. However, when I copied it, it does appear to be slightly different.

So in the box that showed up asking if I wanted to change countries, I clicked “yes” and it took me to the page with the phone grip. That looks pretty substantial. I think I would prefer the Snap Grip because it’s magnetic and quicker to attach. However, this one clamps on and may be more secure and not subject to slipping off the phone.

Many thanks to everyone with your comments. Since my phone is a Samsung, I think I'm more comfortable staying away from anything that relies on magnets to attach the phone to the grip. The clamping action of the Kiwifotos or the Ulanzi look like good options.

asimodulex... You said "I have Ulanzi Cap Grip II and it works very well……" I'm curious if you got the model with the LED light on the front of the grip? If so, have you found it useful?

I have the Snapgrip and I got a clamp on one for our granddaughter and they both work well. Her’s has a coldshoe for a microphone etc but it is a little larger and more clunky looking. Neither one easily fits in jeans pockets. Both make shooting more steady and I really like shooting with it as it almost feels like a DSLR.
