In January of 2020 me and two of my friends took a roadtrip up North to photograph street art/murals. Probably not the smartest of moves condsidering we were traveling North in winter. The trip was appropriately dubbed "The Armpit Tour" LOL. We survived, photographed some amazing murals and created some great memories. This original image was taken in an alley the night we rolled into downtown Detroit,MI.
IPhone 8+ was the camera of the day.

Inclement weather makes for intriguing settings and moods, including all the reflections and lighting contrasts + more saturated colors. I love your decision to make this a slightly transparent silhouette. Great result!

Beautiful shots, not sure I would want to be wondering around Downtown Detroit though

You escaped with photos, iPhone and your lives... amazing. I lived and worked in Detroit for eight years in the 60s, a time of turmoil and danger, I happily moved to Charlotte North Carolina.

The low camera positioning and the reflective/mirror-effect of wet pavement are effective. The photo has many images for us to see within one large composition. The left and right sides of the alley are so different.

Thank you for your comment. Yeah in retrospect we probably should have never ventured into that alley but we were 3 large guys wearing hooded sweatshirts and jackets. I suspect that people would perceive us as the ones they should stay away from. LOL. I have several good images taken from that long narrow alleyway.

I like this image Fstop, including the silhouette that changes the atmosphere too. I’m not keen on the slight transparency but can live with it - but the silhouette’s reflection does need a bit of a jagged edge adding. A Displacement Map would do the trick nicely.

Thank you for your feedback. While I am familiar with the term Displacment Map I am lacking the skill at the moment to create one. I will have to explore that.

I like that. The original is really good; but the processing improves on the original and gives the photo a unique feel.
