I am an active shooter (sadly a title that has more meanings). Notice the cameras on the desk do not have their straps via their Arca Swiss quick release (thank you Paul). What I want to draw your attention is to a product that gets an A+ for the wrong reasons. The u-shaped bean bag weighs 15lbs and is filled with rice and beans (yes, I weighed it). It was bought to place on the car window and with long lens which means almost 25lbs total. The combination is more than electric windows can tolerate. So far, the score is F-. I went to the McDonald Observatory to shoot a sundown. Got there too early, nothing to do, so I attached the bag as a counterweight to the tripod...hey I brought 500+ miles, why not? I did not secure the top-heavy lens correctly on the side of the mountain and the entire 10lbs of camera\lens should have gone flying off...the counterweight held all in place. Dropping the lowest grade, now a grade of A. On my rolling desk, it now sets. You drop the camera, lens and the almost ever-present steel L-bracket on it and the unit stays in place no matter what. Media change, battery change...whatever. Final grade - A+.
