Colour/color change in PP

I recently did a quick colour change in the Photo Analysis forum and Karl P asked me how I did it. Rather than hi-jack the post I said I'd put the answer here.
Here it is......Using Photoshop [Gimp and other PP programs are similar] open the picture, make new layer copy [always do this working PP]
In the menu bar go to Select/ Color range. Use the eye dropper to pick the colour you want to change and "fuzziness" slider to obtain coverage,[don't over-do it]
press OK and you're left with the marching ants showing the selection.
Go to the brush side bar and pick Color replacement tool. Change the fore-ground colour in the side bar to whatever you want, now using a nice large brush paint over the selected colour and "Hey Presto!" Job done....almost, there will be little bits that weren't selected so finish them with a small brush set to a low flow rate.

Good luck!
