Interesting film camera video

I'm attaching a link to a youtube video in which Devin from Smarter Everyday goes to Finland to a camera store that refurbs old film cameras.

Sounds simple enough but the story is much more complicated than that - they talk about the future of film photography, availability of parts (nobody is making new film cameras), etc.

Interesting, watched a few minutes to get the gist, a good idea and I wonder how it will play here in the US.

I have enough film cameras to last my life time. I don't have enough money to buy film and to process them.

Great video!! Thanks for the link. Love the fact they anticipate the demand for film to grow in the future. I've collected quite a few slr's the last couple of years, ready to be used / repaired. There is something magic about film camera's.

I like the video and all the guys in the video but I have no hope for film future. My standard film when I shot mainly film was Ektar 100 and it's now $15 a roll. Now my standard film is Ektachrome E100 because I don't have the darkroom any more is $22 a roll.

It's all about demand...My guess is that B&W will become more and more popular. It's affordable and easy to develop at home. Everybody can scan film with a scanner or with a digital camera. Shooting B&W film is low threshold really...

I guess B&W is OK but I never can shoot B&W well so I always did color. I used to make color prints at home but I don't have the darkroom any more plus B&H doesn't ship color processing chemicals.

The 'somethings' you describe are symptoms of a photographer that doesn't quite know how to set his camera or how to process his film. Out of focus can also be achieved with a digital camera. Not enough light in the image? What about the 17 stops usable information in a decent film?
