This is a tip I did not know!
I couldn’t understand how he was adjusting the temperature while the mouse pointer remained stationary on the image.
The trick is to mouse-left-click the TEMP text, to the left of the WB slider, then the +/- keys adjust the slider.
Apparently this works with any slider.

This tip is for technically correct WB. But that might not be artistically correct. So the artist might wish to apply further tweaks to temp or tint, according to taste.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KrmHp_3ixoInteresting concept. I went back thru a few of my RAW photos shot under different evening lights and tried it. I found it rather time-consuming, but it worked. However, I usually shoot on Auto WB in camera and most were already close. For those that needed more adjustment, I just hit Auto WB in LR and got pretty much the same results.

Interesting. Thank you for taking the time to look and to post your results.
I tried it on some images with a cool cast, and found it gave me a good result. I didn’t compare that to the Auto WB in LR using the eye dropper on the same spot, but that is a good idea I will try it.
Agree it seems more time consuming. There are times when AWB gives a horrible result maybe try this when that happens?
One thing I am curious about is this method only adjusts Temperature whereas the Auto WB in camera and also in the LR processing software, adjusts both Temp and Tint. He mentioned he sometimes adjusts tint but usually not. I am curious about the Tint slider and why LR auto adjusts Tint but this method does not. If WB is only color temperature then what it Tint? I will shoot a pic under a fluorescent light (green) and try his method. It will be interesting to see if his method corrects the green cast since green is the Tint slider.
