A Christmas Season Walkabout in NYC

It has been a number of years since I ventured into New York during the week between Christmas and New Year. This time I arrived at about ten AM and walked some of the areas that I have not been to in a while. I returned to midtown after it got dark. Midtown is where the big tree is in Rockefeller Center. It is equal parts of magic and mayhem. Maybe this set will show that. Thanks for looking.

Two and five work for me. A completely different look of the bridge. Your third shot as you pointed out is every one’s shot. It’s a tourist shot. Since you don’t work or live in NYC. You’re a tourist. So you fulfilled your obligation.😀
I do like the bikes all lined up in order while the rest of the shot gives it a sense where you are.

Those are my two favorites. I'm also working on a roll of black and white film taken on the High Line exclusively. Those will be coming up shortly. Thanks for your input.

I've only been in NYC once and that was before photography for me, so I enjoyed all your images. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for taking a look. I spent the majority of the day away from Midtown and the Christmas crowds. That was fantastic and I got some nice photos in digital and film from my walk about. I usually hate big crowds; but New York at Christmas is a bit different. It would almost be less enjoyable if the crowds weren't there.

I figured there would be some viewers who have not been to NYC, so I thought I'd try to add some "less than stellar" photographs that give you an idea about what the city is like. I live only 90 minutes away by bus, but there are more than a few people I know who live here and have never gone into the city. I don't understand that. I love the city and try to get there often. Translation, I don't get there often enough; but I'm going to make an effort to change that.

That one is my favorite as well. I think it shows off how massive the structure really is. You don't get that feeling in a car; but when you are walking the bridge it dawns on you: A. How high up you are and B. How big that bridge really is. Thanks for taking a look.

The bridge shots are the winners in this selection. The other photos are there to give the viewer a taste of the place.
