The Three Faces of Eve

Perhaps better submitted on December 24, Christmas Eve. The image is of the same lady as my Picasso image. The submission fits well because on there are 3 images not because of the psychology of the lady in my photos.

The movie "Three Faces of Eve" was based on a real woman who had dissociative identity disorder commonly referred to as multi-personality disorder. A timid housewife Eve White begins seeing Dr Luther, a psychiatrist, because she suffers from headaches and inexplicable blackouts.

Dr Luther is stunned when she transforms before his eyes from a timid housewife, Eve White, into the lascivious, overtly sexual Eve Black. Dr Luther diagnoses her as having multiple personalities. It's not long before a third more sensible woman, calling herself Jane, also appears. The role of the three women was skillfully played by Joanne Woodward. In the discussion of the film, it is commented that Ms Woodward was able to change within the scenes her appearance, voice, and body language as the women emerged. Each woman had her own memories of events and life as it jumped from one personality to the next.

To investigate Mr. Google will help if you search the following ... Scholarly article on three faces of eve white .... The three faces of eve Psychological Analysis

In the image I created, Eve Black is on the left, Jane is in the middle, and the timid down-looking Eve White is on the right.

I painted my original image which was mono-sepia, using Dynamic Autopainter with van Gogh revisited as the artist. Then I removed heavy lines and tweaked the color and contrast a bit using Topaz Clarity.

I do hope you like it. Comments are welcome.

That really is excellent Don! There was no need to tell us which face was which Eve, the bold ‘chin up’ and shy ‘chin down’ poses say it all. If you’re still in touch with the lady you should send her the image.

Thank you, for your kind words. What started as a collection of individual photos lent itself to telling a story. As I viewed the composite, I recalled the movie.

I never knew her name, she was the girlfriend of a guy I worked with in 2001. In this highly mobile world, we lose contact with acquaintances. If I could I would as you suggested send her a copy. Looking at the image this morning it would lend itself to canvas and oils nicely, perhaps easily because of the limited palette.

Twenty years ago, I photographed the activities at Gott-Glass and made a CD-Slide Show, went to deliver it, but the shop was closed. Shorting photos I came across some individuals and sent them to her but could not find the CD. By random chance found the CD and will send it to her. One of the individual photos struck a cord in her heart. She replied about that photo "Timeless." I hope to go for a shooting in 24, both color and IR. Where did those years go?

Wonderful results. You had quite the model to be able to set this composite up. I like your choice of PP for your final results.

Thank you all for the stimuli to do work... the interaction with you all is so meaningful else why bother to put forth the effort to create ~!?

The non-obvious approach to this edit if that the first step was to make the composition into a B&W. That B&W was then subjected to Dynamic AutoPainter, DAP, "New Vincent". Because the starting image was B&W, DAP added its interpretation of paint spectra was limited because the starting image spectra was limited. The result was the drama of the yellow and orange image. I hope this gives NTFrank insight into how I did the post-processing.

We all have multiple personalities but they are not "Dissociative Identities." The word dissociated means disconnection or separation. Our personalities are integrated and useful, they are known and used when needed by the task at hand. My Scientist knows my Comedian, who knows my Artist. The Artist knows his painter, sculptor, and gadget designer. They use one another, the Comedian has gotten the say-it-as-it-is science guy out of trouble by soothing criticism of a plant manager such that even he laughs at what negative things I said about his management style.

Eventually, Eve came to know and deal with her multiple selves.
