Our daughter Jasmine (a shiny new Pediatric Resident) came to spend a day at home and brought her cat Persephone for a visit. I also introduced Jasmine to my new mobility scooter-the last time I gave her a ride in anything but my SUV(s) she was in 6th grade, and it was my Kawasaki Spectre 750 that I donated to Kars For Kids 3 Decembers ago. My bum knee and left leg couldn't be trusted to hold the bike up when stopped.
Debra and Jasmine went shopping. They got a huge roast we cut in half, baking potatoes and a pile of fruit. We made up a care package of meat, baked potatoes and fruit for Jasmine to take home. Her next day off is New Year's Day, and lately she has done a lot of doubles at the hospital because so many doctors are calling in sick with COVID or Flu. The care package will make things easier for her - less cooking.
I got to hug the kitten and Dr Kitten. Yes, Jasmine’s nickname when small was Kitten, and I did give her a pen set engraved "Dr Kitten" when she graduated last May.
My new Mobility Scooter, street legal, three wheels so my bum leg doesn't have to hold it up when stopped.

The first time I have given Jasmine a ride on anything since 6th grade. That time is was a Kawasaki Limited Editon Spectre 750 in black and gold.

I think she likes it! She commented "I could use this to get around the hospital." Harbor UCLA where she works is HUGE!

I am in MY BOWL, I don't want to go for a car ride home!!! Last spring Jasmine went to Costa Rica with a medical group for a month and this yard sale find became her favorite place to be.h

Our little artificial tree has seen a lot of Christmas Eves! Yes, Persephone inspected it and gave it her seal of approval.

It is great. My only problem is I outweigh the scooter(it is 200lbs with accessories), which puts the center of gravity high, as a result cross slopes or high crowned streets can make me feel a bit over balanced, like I am about to roll over to the side. We live in a semidesert, but the street department crowns the streets like it was the Amazon Rain Forest.
Debra says, "Use it as an excuse to help lose weight." I need to do that anyway. Being retired, the fridge and snacks are just too close. If I go out and about to photograph parks etc. and only take something to drink, it should help.

Dodie,
You are welcome.
Joy and happiness to you and yours also.
Persephone lets me pick her up, cuddle her, etc. During that month of kitten sitting while Jasmine was in Costa Rica, she learned I don't take NO for an answer. Jasmine is a bit jealous of it. At the first sign of "I don't want to hug." she backs off, so Persephone will claw and bite gently at her as a NO. Not me, she knows Ol' Grumpy will just hug her anyway and gives in.
She even spent time at the toddler gate that keeps the dogs in the family room (my den and office) saying Hi like she was asking "What have you been doing since I stayed here last Spring?" And of course, she resumed her efforts to get through the door from the kitchen to the "Forbidden" (aka garage) and the Great Outdoors through the front door. At least the great outdoors, she gets to go for walks on a lease.
Maybe things like this is why she tries to keep Jasmine away?

Merry Christmas Robert. That cat deserves all the lovin' you can give it.
That's wonderful, Merry Christmas to you.
I’m glad you found a ride that works AND is fun for all. Persephone is a cutie as is Jasmine. Enjoy your Christmas together.

Every time we make a run to her place or Jasmine visits, Persephone gets lots of attention.
At first her name was Purr because as a small kitten she sounded like a tiny diesel locomotive on idle.
Then Jasmine expanded it to "Purr"sephone and was surprised when I said "Oh, the Greek Goddess".
I had to remind her of my reading and 34 years of teaching history.

Awesome looking ride!
It is fun. My wife's ankle problems are getting worse (30+ years on her feet as a Surgical Nurse & OR Charge Nurse) so maybe I can talk her into getting one also. Hmm? Maybe the 4 wheel independent suspension all terrain scooter which I could then "borrow" from time to time???
After all, after asking "Why do you want another SUV, you are retired now and don't need to haul books and papers?" Guess which vehicle is leaving the driveway for a combined Pokémon and Christmas Tamale run?
Hint, it isn't her little two-door Honda.

Thank you very much.
Several years ago, Jasmine had a choice, her boyfriend etc. here at home or go to medical school. She is now a Pediatrician. But I heard a comment about there being some "cute" unmarried doctors at the hospital where she now works.
Who, knows, maybe Debra and I will become Grandma and Grandpa to something besides a cute kitty?

Looks like time really well spent, Robert! Glad you did enjoy it!

It was a fun day.
Now to rig up a "Cat Carrier" for the scooter, so Persephone can hate me for something new besides not taking NO for an answer when I want to hug her.
