Just Joined This Section, I Have A Few Questions

Hi, after posting a few of my SmartPhone images in the Gallery section I was invited to join the SmartPhone Section. I have a Question, are there any rules, specific section rules? At this point I may shoot images with my SmartPhone but I Process them with ACR and Photoshop on my PC just like I do images shot with my many DSLRs and other Digital cameras. Is that Okay for my Section shared images to be "hybrids?" I know a lot of processing can be done in-camera in my new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Pentax K-1 Mark II, and Fujifilm X100T. I have only used a very few of the in-camera effects and tools of them. I am a big fan of Photoshop and comfortable using it. My other cameras have less built in special features. When I can for "straight" shots I shoot in RAW, but for some effects and tools, JPGs work better as I have found during the last month. So are there any requirements or rules?

Yes, read that before. So I guess there are no rules other than the typical UHH ones that I have known about for years!

As the Moderator for this section I would like to answer your question.
1. It is okay to post edited Smartphone images. Please state what program you are using for editing.
2. Please state what Smartphone model you are shooting with.

Welcome to our Section. I look forward to seeing your images.

If you have a minute, check out my post entitled, Strange things in the bathroom.

Although posted in the photo gallery, I was curious to see if anyone would notice that it wasn't taken with a "real" camera.

Tongue in cheek here, I have felt for many years that the best camera is the one that you have in your hand, The reality of the bathroom shot is that it was taken with an iPhone 12 Pro Max and the only editing done was with Apple's built in editor.

Yes, I see it now. I saw the post a few days ago but did not comment until now. I can see in the reflections that there is a Rectangular SmartPhone shape and not a DSLR, MILC, PnS shape. Had you posted it with "store original" many might have found you used an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

It's funny that some people do not consider phone cams to be a real camera. I beg to differ, they are the original mirrorless...

I had been on the fence about that but I have proven to myself that there is no fence.

Welcome, Mike. We have fun on the Smartphone photography section. I’ve been contributing to this forum since it was formed and I spend most of my time here. In fact I rarely use my regular cameras anymore and just enjoy using my iPhone 13 Pro Max. We welcome all smartphones here, and there are no hard and fast rules. You’ll find some rather spectacular images from smartphones posted here. Again, welcome and I’m looking forward to seeing some of your images.
