The old abandoned truck was my target. My abstract was drawn from the door of the truck.
I like the original much better.
Cool find and creative work, Tom!

I can understand that, Ken. I appreciate you dropping by.
I rather like the abstract that resulted. Nicely done.
Interesting how things evolve... that is the way my brain thinks... entertainment as a child was seeing things from cloud shapes... there was no TV back then.. only the outdoors.
Seeing familiar <or invented> objects or patterns in otherwise random or unrelated objects or patterns is called pareidolia. Your abstract evolved ...
I like both... old cars bring back memories.

Thanks. Mike.
You used to see abandoned vehicles right off the road a lot....that is, way back in the hollows. I don't know if the State got after them or what, but they've cleaned that stuff up a whole lot.
See you, buddy.

Thanks for the visit.
I appreciate you commenting. I've always been into abstracts....but seldom have I really liked one that didn't have sharp lines, appearing more " in focus ". This one, however, grew on me. So much so that I had it blown up considerably and it hangs behind my desk in my home office.

I've never been accused of falling prey to pareidolia. I mean, that's not a lethal affliction, is it ? Well, even if it is,
I'm too old to put up much of a defense.
In any event, I appreciate you commenting. It means alot to me.

Hard to imagine you got that result from the original you showed us. Interesting result.
Erich
I appreciate the visit, Erich.
The top right portion of that door was the primary contributor. The process involves getting the color right,,,which is easy...and getting the elements of the image ( in this case the field of grasses and flowers in the foreground give way to the stretch of green forest, which gives way to the blue sky and clouds) like I want them. Some times I have to repeat some parts of the element to get the image I want.
The color is always there with rust., as it is there on that old truck. The trick is getting to that color.
Really like the abstract Tom. The original ain't bad either

I like how you've captured all of the original colors. As an abstract it hits the nail on the head by not recognizing it's inspiration. Personally, I'd like to see a tad more definition but that would mean this art wouldn't be all yours anymore, right? Nice work.

Thank you, Jack.
I think most of us would benefit from some realm of endeavor where there are no rules, no guidelines....just unlimited freedom to do what we want to do. I know that you have your escape route. Doing my rust work is that realm for me.

I really appreciate the visit and thanks for commenting.
I, too, generally prefer a little more definition...even in abstracts. But this abstract proved very stingy with definition. It gave me all it had and there wasn't any more. The more I looked at it, the more satisfying it became. So it weaseled it's way to where it now hangs on the wall ( blown up big ) behind my desk in my home office. Kind of surprises me, really.
