See 1 MP (HorseJournals, 2/21/21, Melanie Huggett, Robin Duncan Photography)
See many MPs (same attribution)

Some won't get it and others jump in without reading previous posts.

Cant really blame them for not reading the previous posts. Ive read those six pages of defensiveness about owning "wonderfully inferior" 3rd rate cameras. Really sickening.

How does a simple question migrate into a comment such as “ Also ran, simple, no count “ cameras ? I thought this was just a survey regarding use of a certain MP camera.

It's all OPINION and everybody has one. An opinion is just that. No one is right, no one is wrong. Some folks are happy with just sharing images on their cell phones in which case MP count matters very little. My OPINION is...if it's a great image print it, frame it, and hang it on a wall. My 20.8 megapixel camera handles that nicely.

What you may lack in talent can be accomplished with another 30 megapixels.

Some are pleased with what they have and don't care if it it s "third rate camera".
Some simply don't have to have the best, largest, up-to-date camera.
Some do.........

If I had the money, I'd try a Sony A7RV ... but that will probably never happen.

On the other end, I'd like to try the last Olympus, the OM SYSTEM OLYMPUS OM-1. But that will probably never happen either.

For now, I love my old Sony A77. It works. It's paid for. I know how to use it.

I've seen your classic/custom car photos. Your eye would work well behind any camera.

You seem to take that as negativity. Whether thaz valid or not, it most clearly is of no real concern to the verrrrrrry few actually on-topic respondants who are reporting about their actual 61MP cameras.

Perhaps there is some negativity exactly where you think you see some. But anyone who might feel belittled by that comment is just an off-topic respondant who has put their uninvited neck on the chopping block and has no business protesting when the axe is lifted !

-----------------------------------------------

Are their 12 to 24MP cameras REALY no count, 3rd rate, also-ran junk ? Thaz not MY call. I take my cue from the owners of those bottom feeders. Their universally obsessively overly defensive off-topic posts are their outlet for expressing their discomfort about owning their clunkers, clunkers that were never even asked about but they leap at a perceived opportunity to expose their inferiority complexes.

Ok... I forget, this is UGH... Everyone NOT having the latest and greatest has an inferiority complex and are as you refer to them as " Bottom Feeders ". I am not going to debate with you as it is non productive. I answered your question #1 and also question #2. Is that not what you wanted ? I was NOT defending ANY position, just responding to your inquiry... Do we ALWAYS have to use derogatiory adjectives and adverbs about EVERYTHING and EVERYONE...

Thank you for this information. Since some lenses have a better reputation than others, there must be some measure by which they can be rated.

MTF-standard sharpness testing is one universal standard of testing resolution of lenses.

As posted before, here is the MTF-Standard Sharpness tests results for fullframe E-mount lenses tested on the 61mp Sony A7RIV/A7RV.

And if you read the SAB article (Sony Alpha Blog) they explain why better lens sharpness (resolution) matters more to resolve high megapixel sensors.

Cheers and best to you.
