Forty-ish years ago I spent an obscene amount of money on a copy of Dark Side of the Moon. What made it special was that it was a half-speed master on virgin vinyl.
It sounded very nice on my custom-built Denon turntable that I shelled out about three dollars shy of a Grand to purchase.
I had roughly five thousand invested in my stereo in the early 80's. Quite a chuck of change for someone in their early 20's.
