Hello everyone!
I am looking forward to meeting others and getting to know those who enjoy photography and being able to share with each other.
Along with having a background as a Photographer I have done a fair amount of Retouching and continue to learn in both fields.
This seems to be a fun forum to jump into.

Feel free to critique anything I submit. Sometimes we need extra pairs of eyes on what we shoot to receive more insight and not be so emotional about what we shoot that we are not able to be more objective and teachable...
So with that being shared....let me introduce myself....my name is Joanne.

Welcome Joanne.
While I am not usually a fan of lots of post processing, I can tell you have a great "eye" for subject and composition.

Thank you Kateface....I appreciate the welcome......and the compliment.
The cabin was pretty cool...it was on private property and fenced off sitting more or less in the owners barnyard. So about all I could do is shoot over the fence...
I couldn't resist getting a shot of it. I'd like to go back some day and find the history on it...
Thank you for welcoming me here...

Thank you very much David. I appreciate that...
I am not not clear about my way around this forum this is new to me in that respect also...for example..
Is there a way to edit something once you post...like when you mess up...or is it permanently posted?

Thanks again David! So what do you like shooting?

Yes, you can edit your post for one hour after posting it, I think...but don't hold me to that. I know I catch typos after I post, and correct them. There's a option just below your post that says EDIT...click that and retype it.

As for my camera, I have a Canon T2i, just got it about a month ago or less, and am still learning how to use it. Haven't had much time so far, but maybe soon I will have more time to experiment with it. I like shooting landscapes for the most part. Haven't gotten into portraits yet..not sure thats my cup of tea.

Thanks David for the information, that helps.

The camera you chose sounds like a great choice, amazing to get that many MP in that price range....you did really well.

Grin, Yeah....shooting landscapes is pretty cool. It is just wonderful when everything is there and you capture that moment.
People/portraiture....well I would have thought the same as you regarding that area....but I was more or less pushed in that direction and wound up shooting a lot of portraiture/ weddings /events...etc.
And looking back to the beginning I would have never thought with being a bit shy I would take that direction.
So don't be surprised what area you end up....grin
Enjoy the road and journey to shooting David....you'll go down many paths to great shots!

Sure nice to meet you..
How long have you been shooting photogrl57?[/quote]

Only 5 years. So I am still learning. I just love capturing images of what I see. There is so much beauty around us. And things are constantly changing. The images help me to remember how I was feeling that particular day. Up until now I have been shooting everything on auto, totally ignoring the potential of the equipment that I have. So under those circumstances this site has truly been an inspiration to me.
