I loved Dan's post on the Adamski effect here. It inspired me to give it a try.

Wow, you certainly did a great job! I love the photograph, did you take it? The droplets of water around the figure are really excellent!

Thanks, Veronica. I did take the original. The water droplets were a serious challenge, trying to figure out which ones to leave crisp and which to allow to blur. I tried four or five times before settling on the ones you see. I’m relieved that they came across well and pleased that you like them.

Looking at Dan’s post again, I think I did the effect wrong because I didn’t float the subject layer and fill in behind it. I see more practice in my future.

I love your choice of subject and processing, and as discussed, the water drops are great!

Well sure, but I'd like to learn the actual technique at least once before creatively departing from it!

Thanks, Linda. It looked like a suitable subject to me.

Nice work. There seems to be some ghosting around the head; but I'm guessing that is part of the process not having tried this myself yet. I am, intrigued, however to give it a try. Thanks for posting.

That's actually a result of not doing the technique right. Photoshop blurred around the sharp edges. Properly done, you float the subject, fill behind them within the background layer, and then blur just the background. That way the subject remains sharp with no blurring around it.
