Does anyone know of or use a free pc scanner for cleaning? Years ago, I used "PC Cleaner.com" but that doesn't seem to be free anymore.

Can you be more specific as to what you want/need to accomplish?
It is starting to slow down and having occasional issues with Facebook wanting me to log in which usually just pops up. I guess I'm looking for a tune up.
Just guessing here, but CCleaner has a free version. It's been around for decades, and is a pretty good tool for what it does. It started life as "Crap Cleaner," but then wiser heads prevailed.

If you're using Microsoft, you can use "Disk Cleanup" to get rid of trash and rewrite files so they are less fragmented. Works somewhat. You also might be getting to close to having a disk filled to capacity. Check that.

I use the free version of Glary Utilities, cleans lots of things Registry cleaner , shortcut fixer, disk repair ( be careful how u use it) tracks eraser ( be really careful how you use it) Temp files cleaner, startup manager . Defrag and registy defrag, and it does a virus scan. plus a lot more. and they update it quite often. ive used it for years
How much free disk space do you have? Low disk space will really slow your PC down.

Yup. Also the Facebook thing is a different problem. Switch email accounts. I use to get emails from Facebook & when replying, get right in. Dropped that cable company, using a different email now, need to log in. Facebook might up their policy for security reasons also. Haven't done so as of yet. Might get me in by replying or not.

Try System Mechanic. I have used it for years and it keeps my old PC running great.

I use the free version of CCleaner and System Mechanic , but it costs money. If on a pc, make sure you have cleared your browser history. Check out all of the files in your Downloads folder. Delete any not needed. Once all are deleted, run C Cleaner or System Mechanic. On my internal hard drive I always try and have 20% or more free and available.
Try the most basic System Mechanic. I do not use their Anti Virus program as I have another one installed.

I use Glary Utilities. It comes in a very thorough free version, and if you like it, the Pro version is reasonably priced and NOT a subscription.
Thanks. I will take your advice about careful and very careful!
I think the de-frag part is what helped the most in the past- Thank you.
Thanks. I've heard rumors of Facebook tightening the reigns.
