I've worked with an animal rehabilitation organization for some years and have had the opportunity to photograph the release of rehabbed Bald Eagles. Here are a few.....
This is one of the first. It had been caught in a trap set for Muskrats.
This one was released at an elementary school for a unit on animals.
This pair had 2 juveniles waiting for them...
These big boys do not like to be handled, even if they're going to be released.
This one turned and came close enough to me that its wingtip hit the bill on my cap.
Great shots JBob. How exciting and Rewarding to being involved so close.
I went to a release by the St Paul Raptor center of Broad-wing hawk's...but unfortunately for me, I wasn't very close to the birds
I have seen hawk releases but never eagles.

You're right jd, very rewarding. When I get some time I'm going to go through old albums for some shots of releases of other critters... bears, fox, bobcats, etc.
