Yep, sometimes there are good ideas that simply don’t or won’t work. Examples are your cartoon and talking reason to a teenager. Or a toddler grasping the concept of delayed gratification.

Speaking of teenagers.i was at an alternative school one day on the side of a portable building doing some telephone work and the principle who was my high school shop teacher 15 years prior was trying to get one of the male students to go back into the class room but with no success. The student had started arguing saying that he wasn't doing nothing so i turned around and with a stirm voice I told him," and that's why you are here at this alternative school because you never did nothing at the regular school.you didn't pay attention, you didn't do your homework, you didn't show up to school, and you didn't respect your teachers." With that coming out of a stranger the student was shocked. He turned right around and went back to his class room.my teacher told me their hands were tied and they couldn't touch the kids or tell them anything but thanks for the help since I was not part of their staff .
