I have been mentally debating whether or not to post this one to FYC. It’s a water snake from in front of Golubac Fortress on the Danube, the Guardian of the Iron Gates. There were signs warning of poisonous snakes and for some reason I was the only one in all the groups who saw them. Possibly because they just looked like a reed in the water, till you saw them move their heads.
This one was more visible underwater than the others and I just managed to get its coils sitting on the rocks beneath it.
Comments or criticisms welcome.
Good Shot. Why the hesitation?

My hesitation came from the starkness of just the snake in the water, but I finally gave in to the tenacity of the viper and its rigid posture.

Well done, Pete!
Thanks Mike…. I appreciate your input 😀
I see no reason to hesitate.
I hope you had a long lens. You look close enough to be in the strike zone.
Don't be too anxious about having the reflection ultra-clear and the same applies to a lesser extent to the part of the snake under the water. These things aren't ultra-clear in real life and it can help with realism to keep them slightly subdued.

I was about 100’ away. The lens was my go to travel lens, the 28-300 L.

My main desire was to get the coils on the bottom to be visible. Thank you for the input.
