I want to transfer my my Organizer settings to a new machine. I can recreate PE9 on the new machine, but it doesn't contain the picture organization found on the Organizer I had on the old machine. The pictures are on an external hard drive that can be connected to the new machine. The old machine uses XP while the new machine uses Windows 7.

I use PSE9 on my desktop but also have it on my laptop for when I am away. I keep the Organiser catalog files in my Pictures directory and setting the
Edit/Preferences/Files/Folders for Saved Files to find it here.
I then keep the two synchronised through a portable HDD by backing up the whole pictures directory on the desktop to the portable HDD and then copying it to the laptop. If I do editing on the laptop, I reverse the process to update the desktop.
This also has the advantage of having all photos and catalog info in three places at all times.
BTW, I use a free utility TreeComp (search on Google) to compare the computer and the portable HDD, so allowing me to merely copy the files that have changed.

The catalogue files are where PSE Organiser keeps the record of what photos you have and where they are.
As I have moved mine, I don't know where PSE puts them by default. Somewhere in
Users/Your_name/Adobe or similar. However, Organiser will tell you where they are if you use the menu
Edit/Preferences/Files/Folders for Saved Files.
I have the following subdirectories under Adobe:
- Catalogue
- Desktop wallpaper
- Other photos
- Outgoing email attachments
- Scanned photos
Copy the whole Adobe subdirectory including subdirectories into your Pictures directory and then point Elements there as I said in my first post.
