It Was A Cold Day on the Idaho Prairie

While hunting the Camas Wildlife Refuge area many early mornings were bitter cold. I kept the Sony RX10IV in the truck with to record just such days to record plants as well as animals I ran across. There are two photos of the same building, one on a freezing cold day, I think 18 degrees, and the other on a much warmer day, maybe in the mid 30's. The Camas sign gives some information on the area.

I inserted the cactus so you would remember what the color green looks like. Not much green on the prairie this time of year.

I hope you enjoy a bit of some bitter cold. By now many of you have already experienced the cold.

Dennis

Thank you very much Longshadow for your fine comments. I like the 4th best myself. Upon seeing the very last photo I do not like it as well as any of the others.

Thank you very much kpmac. Apparently I still do and am looking for a little bit more early in next year in SD for ducks, geese and pheasants. I am thinking I will take all of my cold weather gear just to be on the warm side.

Thank you very much NMGal for your fine comment.

It really was chilly that day. When I got out of the truck to take a look around, the days I hunted I sometimes walked 3-5 miles a day. While I had to wear a hat to be legal I did not pull the ear flaps down so my ears took a beating. It is a very bad habit I learned growing up in Western upstate NY as a kid. None of us wore hats or any head protection. It was too sissified back then. Old habits die hard.
