I haven't been to see these little guys for a while. I went today to see them at high tide. There were a lot of them there today, I think that they are Willets, but I am not sure.
I bought them a few times when they all took off.
You sure get huge swarms of these birds. Impressive

I went out this morning, a little after high tide, and there were two big masses of birds on the shore. Within the hour, there were a lot more. More than I have ever seen there.
The funny part is that they started to get very agitated. Every once in a while, they would all start moving, stop, then start again. One birder that was there said that it might have been the seagulls that were on the shore that were upsetting them. Once in a while, they would all take off. Fly around, and then land. They did this for a while.

Nice, lots of birds!
Thank you. Yes, there were a lot of birds. More than I have seen there before.
You had to be there to really see it.
It's a great shot! Maybe a mixed flock. I think I see different beak lengths on some of them. Very cool!
Great shot! May I ask where you took this photo? I live in the Bay Area and am always looking for different places to photograph. Thanks!
