Where do you go to produce hard copies (prints) of your pics? Shutterfly?

McGreevy Pro Printing in Albany, NY. Been using them for prints for over 10 years. Had them make prints in various sizes from 4x6 to 16x24 with some in glossy, others in matte and canvas. Also have had them print note cards that I use as Christmas presents. It’s less than 5 miles from my house and I have two options: 1) bring the photos on a thumb drive to them and pick up the finished prints in three or four days; 2) send the photos by email or through their website and pick up the finished prints in three or four days.

We happen to have a local small business here in the South suburbs of Denver, Englewood Camera. They have an associated lab, and I used them for my 16x24 enlargement of my fall Crystal Powerhouse shot. I brought them the TIFF out of Topaz on a DVD. The colors in the gold and orange leaf highlights were a bit tricky. It took them three tries to exactly match the colors on their calibrated monitor, but they were glad to work with it until I was happy. I liked the personalized service that I probably would not have gotten with an internet lab.

I make most myself, I'm pretty old fashioned, in that for me , it is not really a picture until it is a Print.
I keep them in large archival flat files.
Although I have been slacking off a bit.....

Same here. I'm surprised so few people print at home. It's so much more convenient, and I have total control over print quality. I use an Epson R2880, Epson Exhibition Fiber paper and OEM ink. I make letter size prints of my best shots, and further decide which ones to print 13x19 with a one inch border to allow matting or framing in 13x19 frames. When I share photos online, like here, I find myself wishing people could see them printed as they are much more impressive than viewing on a screen. I just finished printing my yearly four sets of my 12 best to give to friends and family. They have all had some of their favorites of those framed and hung. I just like having prints of my best photos with them after I'm gone.

Do you put them on a disk so they can make prints?

On line or SD card.

For the photo size prints that we use to get printed back in the day from our film cameras. I got a relatively inexpensive “CANON SELPHY 1300” printer. I wanted to have photo albums with my grandchildren’s pictures (1 and 3 yrs. old) in them.
There’s still a lot to be said for being able to look at a hard copy vs. trying to find, display, share and show pics from as cards.

By the way the “CANON SELPHY 1300” is compact size, small and portable. Great for parties, and gatherings. Guest can be gifted with a photo to take home with them. Kit comes with (3) packs of paper, (3) toner and ink cartridges that slides into the printer that come all together in one very small box. The printer is so small it can fit into a plastic grocery bag or large purse. It’s worth going online and taking a look.
