Very interesting : those pictures could have been captured here in France, in a région called "Camargue" (south...between Montpellier and Marseille). We call this vegetation "sansouïre"...typical short bushy "saladelle" and "salicorne" which grows up in humid salty areas (=swamp?). Just in order You can compare, here below is one picture I shot just few days ago nearby les Saintes Maries de la Mer. Looks like the ground Your pictures are displaying!
