Spotted something unexpected tonight while walking home from the store with my wife.

One of the stores in the strip mall set up a Christmas tree 🎄 near their window facing the sidewalk. That wasn't the unexpected sight, but what was, was the words, Radio Shack, which appeared on the window. Radio Shack hasn't been there for at least ten years.

I took two photos with my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, one is in color the other is black and white.

Which looks better to you?

I didn’t know Radio Shack was still around anywhere.

Thanks for looking and for your comment Greg! Much appreciated.

I don't remember where, some foreign country, 🤔 but a YouTube program I watched mentioned they still had Radio Shack stores there.

Thanks for looking! It has been a number of years alright. My wife says it has been more than ten years, closer to twenty.

Back in the day, RS was the go to place for the exciting things in electronics.

I remember Radio Shack being a place where I could get all my electronic needs and components when I was in ham radio. Then it slowly morphed into a place where you could buy music players, GPSes and entertainment stuff. Also the people working at Radio Shack got younger and younger and less and less knowledgeable. Last time I went into a Radio Shack here, there was some clueless kid working there. I’ll bet he had no idea what a resistor or a condensor or capacitor was, but he could sell you a cheap RC model plane or car. No wonder it went away.

Since you asked which looks better, neither one looks very good. They’re too blurry. I had to look a couple times just to see what you were talking about with the Radio Shack logo. Sorry, but you asked.

I remember Radio Shack being a place where I could... (show quote)

I remember the changes as well. Once computers and related integrated circuits came, the single components went away.

Thanks for looking! You've nothing to apologize for, I did ask. And I expected honest opinions to be expressed.

I think the only reason that I could see the words is that the exterior of the window was somewhat misty.

I have to agree with gvarner on this one. But as you say, the window was fogged up.

I'm not too surprised, nor am I offended. Take care.

You too. And now I’m off to shovel off the deck and blow the snow off the driveway. Cheers. It’s something like this, although this is from last winter. iPhone 13 Pro Max.
