ICM Experiments

Had a minute to try some ICM again. First one is not as smooth a swing with my camera as I'd have liked, but did like the graphic in the foreground trunk.

The second I was trying to include some leaves, but resulted with a light spot in the middle. I added an overlay layer of an ocean wave with sand and bubbles using a hard light blend mode (backed off the opacity a bit) to fill in the light space which made more of an abstract.

Comments and suggestions always welcome.

I'm out to lunch on the first one, but #2 is very nice. My eyes wander all around in that scene and my brain is starting to envision all sorts of characters embedded somewhere there. Maybe a Little Red Ridding Hood character, a shadowy figure of some sort, a forest animal. I think you created a really nice image with all kinds of possibilities.

I like the foreground trunk in #1. I might remove the gray element on the right that looks like a metal pole. That leaves the rest in the background, with the jagged, brightly lit tree as the star.

#2 is so cool. I sure do love seeing the application of a totally unrelated scene, and with the magic of blend modes, it becomes an intriguing result.

Thanks for posting, Bev!

I like #2 a lot. It looks as though you’re ready to start compositing along with Magnetoman.

Yes, I agree the 1st one is "out there", but there was just something which drew me to it. I think it was mostly the tree trunk in the foreground. Thanks for your comments.

Thanks for your suggestion on #1, I should have seen it and cleaned it up. Appreciate your time to comment.

ICM or unICM gives interesting image effects. We, in this section, are starting to experiment with some non-standard techniques, and that is a creative good sign.

Thank you for your comment. These techniques are not usually in my mind of things to photograph, and especially not to share, so I'm really pushing the envelope for me. I'm usually more high key and ethereal, but since many are posting, thought I'd give it a try.
